Steve Jacobs

Nature Designs Owner, Steve Jacobs, is widely regarded as one of the leading San Diego Landscape Contractors. Steve earned a Bachelor’s degree in Ornamental Horticulture as well as a degree in Irrigation and Drainage Design from Cal Poly, Pomona. Steve and all of our employees are committed to providing our customers with excellence through ongoing education, seminars and industry certifications in areas including design, horticulture, irrigation technology, plant diseases and pest control. Steve often holds seminars locally on topics from water conscious planting to how to save money in your garden, to firescaping strategies. Steve is an Ornamental Horticulture instructor at Cuyamaca College where many of his employees have studied Horticulture. Industry Certifications are encouraged at Nature Designs Landscaping and many of our employees are certified in various construction and horticulture areas (see our many credentials below).

Steve earned his landscape contractor’s license from the State of California in 1988 and expanded it to include pool and spa installation in 2006. He became involved in the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA) to keep up with the changes in the industry and served as president of the local chapter in 2001. Steve will be the California State Director of Education in 2010. Steve has made a commitment to continuing education by earning his Certified Landscape Professional (CLP), Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) designation from the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET), Certified Water Manager (CWM) from the CLCA, Arborist certification from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), and Certified Irrigation Contractor from the Irrigation Association (IA). Steve also belongs to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (APSP).
